We are painting whores!
Last night I felt like I ran the marathon, I was so achy from painting the new apt. I WENT TO SLEEP AT 10 PM!! Goes to show you how out of shape I've become since I stopped going to the gym. But we are making progress! Yesterday we did the "creative room" aka the computer and craft room. Here's a picture of me doing some touch ups in that room today. I love the orange color, I think it came out great!
There's the ikea table, I can't wait to fill up those drawers, I'm going to be so organized! (yeah, for maybe 1 month!)
Here's Yves starting the bedroom in our favorite dark blue.
And finally the living room! We're just painting this one wall the dark brown and the rest of the living room will be clamshell. We'll be doing that tomorrow.

I'm becoming one of them!
Oh man, I'm becoming one of those dog owners that dote on their pets and shows pictures of them every chance they get. Geez Skippy's only been with us about a week! It's hard to resist him when he follows you around the house all day. If I get out of hand, please shoot me. Really!
I went to meet Richard for lunch today on Indian Row. I had the chicken shag and it was yummy. Then we went for an afternoon cocktail at the Thirsty Scholar on 3rd. It was a nice day and looking forward to doing it again, after the move! Ugh, not looking forward to it but I just want to get it over with.

Skippy isn't dead!
My three boys!
I'm amazed and astounded that the animals are co-existing so well. Notice I didn't say 'getting along.' Neo will still hiss at Skippy but that only seems to happen when Skippy comes up to him and Neo doesn't want to be bothered. I get so excited when they are close to each other like on the coach. Imagine my ecstasy when one day they will be huddled right next to each other. NOT!

October mixer
Last night was the October mixer. First we started out at Otto's but since it was open mike comedy night, the back room wasn't available for our drunken debauchery so we headed to one of our favorite east side haunts, Hi Fi formerly known as Brownies, many moons ago. The cool wavy table in the middle was waiting for us. Josh was dying to know if we got him a Jeff Tweedy ticket from Music Downtown. I got a beer out of him and Joy got a club soda with lemon and lime out of him. Plus kisses on the cheek. Well, he got off way easy and Joy gave him the tickets shortly after. I told her we could have gotten so much more out of him. Oh well. We then headed over to The Beauty Bar for a final nightcap. Very kitschy.
The above picture is my mix. If anyone is interested in a copy, let me know!

Music Downtown
Whoopee! Got my tickets for the free Ryans Adams show in November and also Jeff Tweedy (on different days).
On my first day of being job free, I woke up earlier than I have for work! Me and Joy got downtown a little after nine and the line was already down the block. Josh ended up not getting up to wait in line at 7 and he showed up around 10:30 I think and decided not to stay in line. They were giving out tickets starting at 11 and by the time we were done, it was a little after noon.

Skippy arrives!
Skippy on the ride home.
Well, the day has come where Skippy and Neo meet. It wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. There was hissing and back arching and fluffy tails but Skippy knew not to push it and backed off, giving Neo his space. And Neo didn't hiss at us when we tried to console him. That's pretty good for Neo. Usually he would be pissed at us but we did feel like he was looking at us with sad eyes saying "Why are you doing this to me?" I'm not sure if they will ever be friends but I'm pretty sure they will be able to tolerate each other. There is no choice.

A new chapter
Today was my very last day at work! I've worked there since February of 2000 and I felt it was time to move on. It actually was hard to say good bye and sad too. I'm really going to miss everyone very much and I hope at my next job I will be just as lucky and meet wonderful people there as well. Danielle baked me a cake and I thought that was very sweet! In the shape of a bunny too!
Karl made me a bunny mix but I'm too lazy to take a picture of it right now. There is actually a song on there called "The Bunny Song!"
Here's a picture of my desk, well, my old desk. Actually, it's the cleanest it's ever been!
Last night we went out for drinks after work to Mica Lounge. A lot of people showed up, more than I thought so that was really very nice. I had a blast! Richard came during his lunch hour too! Of course, we had to do the heads shot!
There are a lot more drunken pics that I'll put up separately. I also tried to take a picture with everyone but I missed a few. Oh well.

I'm married to your charms and grace
Me and Yves got married 4 years ago last Friday. Yeah, I know, I'm a little late. I wasn't even going to post this since Yves is in Atlanta for work and won't be home til tonight and was there since last Tuesday! But I haven't updated my blog all week.
Saturday, I had brunch with Tammy, Pete and Nate. We went to Cafe Bar in Astoria, yum! Then me and Tammy headed over to Robyn's open studio. It was a real crappy day because of hurricane tammy. Rainy and wet and muggy. Ugh. Tammy couldn't stay too long because she's allergic to cats and forgot to take medication. So I made her go to Michael's with me and we walked over there in the rain and wind! A bunch of nutters! When I got back to Robyn's, Richard, Alan, Young, Hanna, Josh and Sara were there. We basically hung out for a while. Everyone left except for Richard and we decided to get some Indian food.

Across the Narrows
Yesterday was Across the Narrows and I went to the Staten Island show with Joy, Tammy, Mark and his sister and friend. The ferry ride was actually not that bad and the ballpark was really close. We got there around 4ish and just missed Tegan and Sara! Oh well, I saw them quite a few times so that's ok. During the security check, they told us that if we get caught taking pictures, they would take the camera away. I hate that shit because then it just makes you paranoid the whole time and you know what, no one cared that pictures were being taken. That being said, I'm not very happy with the pictures I took because I was trying to be quick. Here are a couple of shots.
British Sea Power
Interpol
I'm not a fan of the Killers but everyone else wanted to check them out. After 7:30, the ferry runs on the hour so we wanted to be on the 10 pm ferry. We left around 9:30 so we could at least be in the front of the crowd instead of the back. Well, talk about feeling like a herd of cows! We're all crammed into the ferry waiting for the doors to open and it was just crazy! Once the doors opened, (after 10 I might add!), everyone was just pushing their way through the doors. I just had to laugh. We lost Tammy and co. but Joy and I went downstairs to the front so we would be the first ones off. That's when we found out that the ferry people weren't told that there would be this mass of people today and if they knew that, they would have kept the ferries running every half hour.
