I'm Breakin' Out
Last night I went to see Shemekia Copeland for free at Wagner Park downtown. Althought the day turned humid, it was a very pleasant evening. Laying on the grass with a view of jersey (I'm being sarcastic here) and listening to Shemekia belt it out. If you like blues, you should know her name. She can belt it out without the microphone. And I was pleasantly surprised at how close to the stage we were. Plus there wasn't an opener and I was home by 9:30 and she played for 1.5 hours!!
