Hip Hop Chow!
After the Guggenheim on Friday, I went to the East Village to have dinner with the bumblebees in celebration of Ruthie's birthday. And if I don't make this post this weekend, I won't hear the end of it from DeeDee!
We went to Hip Hop Chow. The food was wonderful! Everything we had was delicious!
The appetizers were scallops and fried shrimp. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the fried shrimp was light and crispy.
The entrees:
DeeDee got Oxtail although that wasn't her first choice. She didn't regret it
Ruthie got catfish made 2 ways
Joy got the fried chicken
I got the Five Spice Duck. YUM!
For dessert we shared homemade coconut puff. It was perfect, not too sweet.
DeeDee asked the waiter if we could meet the chef and he was kind enough to take a picture with us.
The restaurant wasn't very busy for a Friday night and while it's too bad they are still a secret, I kinda like it a secret! But you should definitely go!
