Snow=Sew!

Today we woke up to about an inch or 2 of snow. The first of the season, I believe. It was a cold and overcast day so I took this opportunity to practice my sewing. First up, a tote bag!

ok, it's not very pretty, I used old sheets to practice on and the pattern from the Sew Fast So Easy book. It's got a lining and a pocket! I don't think I did too bad considering this is only the 2nd real time I'm using my machine. Since I was on a roll, I decided to tackle the curtain!

I didn't make it, don't get excited! It was one big curtain I had to cut it in half and then sew the hem along the sides. We took the doors off the closet and wanted to hang a curtain instead. This curtain was from our old apartment. It wasn't too bad even though it was a long piece, about 7 feet!

Nice job(s) Lulu!

Hopefully next time you practice sewing with old sheets they'll have a nice print like say, Holly Hobby or the Smurfs....

I know, so dorky of me. ; )
