Let Your Body Decide

Last night me and Pete went to Bowery to see The Ark, an over the top glam rock band from Sweden. They were absolutely AWESOME! They were so much fun! The lead singer came out in a leopard leotard and later on (after a costume change!!) made 'reference to his outfit. Since he is from Sweden, he said there were some things about the english language that he didn't understand. Since leopard and leotard are spelled the same way, why are they pronounced differently? He wondered who decides those kinds of things and then he said 'that person must be a reo-tard.' hahahaha. We were also laughing at the people in the front row groping the singer's leg and at one point, the guitarist had a solo and came out front and this guy would not stop rubbing his hand up and down the guitarist's leg. Hysterical! We both also liked the bass player and his sex doll toy mouth.

Anyway, I didn't get to take many pictures before 'security' told me to put my camera away. At least that's what I think he said since I didn't really hear him. At least I didn't get kicked out but my peeve was that there were plenty of other people in the audience taking pictures throughout the whole evening and some with flash too! So just because these people were in the middle of the audience, they are allowed to take pics? Security too lazy to move through the crowd and tell those people to stop taking pictures? If you're going to enforce the rule, enforce the rule for everyone! Sheesh! Later on I thought that maybe he thought I was taking video since I didn't use flash. But then he must be a reo-tard. hahaha!

Baby Dayliner opened up, a sort of rocky crooner. I liked him but Pete wasn't a fan of his stage presence, or lack of it. We also ran into Allison, who was there with her man, who went to high school with BD's bass player.

Also, Tuesday night me and Pete went to check out the The Brazilian Girl's free show at Hudson Pier. Well, we left just as they were starting their set. We weren't feeling the vibe of the pier or the audience and they were having sound problems and it sounded very bassy. Granted, we didn't give it much of a chance but Pete was hungry and craving Bubby's. Who am I to argue? We shared their sour cherry pie and homemade banana ice cream. YUM!

Thanks again for coming with me last night. I'm disappointed with The Ark's CD, as it's really poppy/synth heavy...which is completely different than their live presence. I'll lend it to you but don't get your hopes up that it recreates the absolute fun we had last night.
